What is the Discovery Agent?
The Discovery Agent is your AI-powered research assistant for video.
Instead of relying on keywords or metadata, it understands natural language and context to surface the exact moments in your library—down to clips and timecodes.
Think of it as the teammate who knows every moment in your archive and is always available. Just describe what you’re looking for in plain language, and the Discovery Agent delivers results in seconds, not hours.
Why we built it
Searching video has always been harder than searching text. Legacy systems depend on:
Exact keywords or file names
Rigid metadata and naming conventions
Someone “who knows where everything lives”
This creates bottlenecks: scrubbing through files, endless requests to archivists, or wasted time digging through folders.
For fast-paced media teams, that’s a problem.
The Discovery Agent changes that by pairing our MXT-2 indexing technology with AI reasoning. MXT-2 watches every frame and listens to every word in your videos, creating rich metadata that powers the Discovery Agent’s ability to “understand” your library.
Key benefits
Find hidden gems → Unearth forgotten or buried moments in your archive.
Work faster → Skip scrubbing and searching—go straight to the story.
Empower everyone → Freelancers, social teams, and non-technical users can search with confidence.
Free up experts → Archivists and system managers spend less time fielding requests.
Stay secure → Users only see what they’re allowed to, and no content leaves your system.
Why it matters
Your video library is full of moments that can drive engagement, generate revenue, and tell better stories. The Discovery Agent unlocks that potential—empowering your team to deliver more, faster.

What are its limitations?
While the Discovery Agent is designed to help you quickly locate key moments in your audiovisual content for storytelling and sharing, there are a few important limitations to keep in mind:
Word-level search within speech: The AI agent cannot search for specific words spoken by a person. If you need to locate moments where a certain word is said, the recommended approach is to use the standard search functionality by combining person + word + transcript filters.
Media management tasks: The agent is not equipped to handle media management queries. Examples of unsupported actions include:
Finding misspellings in your metadata.
Correcting transcripts by replacing specific words.
Identifying videos where a person is missing from the thesaurus.
Counting how many times a label has been created within a specific timeframe.
Primary focus: The AI agent is optimized for content discovery—helping you locate clips, highlights, or segments to create stories or share with external partners—rather than administrative or organizational tasks within your media library.
By understanding these limitations, you can use the AI agent more effectively and combine it with the platform’s standard search tools for comprehensive content exploration and management.
