An event is a user-defined structure you create in the UI to group content as it's ingested, for example by show, season, year or date range. Every media file you upload belongs to an event.
Creating an event
Click Events in the left navigation bar.
Click New Event, then complete the event information:
The only mandatory field is Type: choose between Event (default), Photos or Rush. Live events can only be created from the Recording page.
The remaining fields aren't required, but we recommend filling them in: the more complete they are, the easier your media will be to search and find later:
Title: the name of your event.
Program: metadata applied to the event to help identify it, such as a show or format name.
Media info: custom fields defined by your admin, such as content type or production details.
Transcript: the source audio language. If left empty, detection is automatic. Set a specific language if automatic detection may struggle, for example due to background noise.
Transcript from audio channel: which audio channel to transcribe. Both channels are selected by default.
AI indexing: enable or disable MXT (Moments Lab's video understanding AI) indexing for all media in this event.
Routing: advanced workflow settings. Contact the support team to learn more.
User/Sharing: the owner of the event and which organization has access to its media.
Recording: the source device and the start and end time.
Recording settings only apply to live events and are not available when creating an event manually.
Once created, your event appears in the event lineup and is ready to receive media.
Managing an event
To add media, click Upload from inside the event. Once media is in the event, switch between mosaic and list view to browse your files, and take action on it in two ways:
Individually: click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to a media file for actions like adding it to a project, downloading, editing its media info, sharing, moving it to another event, sending it, or deleting it.
In bulk: select several files, or use the select-all shortcut, to bring up a bar at the bottom of the screen with the same actions applied to your whole selection.
You can edit an event's details at any time, for example to update its title, organization or AI indexing settings. You can also delete an event you no longer need.
Only Admins and Chief Documentalists/Contributors can edit or delete events created by others in their organization.
