Getting Started with Studio

Where to find Studio, how to get clips into it and how the editor is laid out.

Studio is your platform’s built-in video editor. Build, brand and publish short-form social clips straight from your catalog, without switching to a separate tool.
Everything you build in Studio is a composition: one edit, made up of clips, subtitles, overlays and audio arranged on a timeline.

What Studio does

With Studio, you can:

  • Trim and arrange clips on a timeline

  • Add overlays: images, videos and audio tracks

  • Reframe footage to 9:16 vertical for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook

  • Save and apply your brand style in one click

  • Preview how your video will look on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook before you publish

  • Render your finished clip, then download it or share it with a link

  • Publish your post directly to your social channels (coming soon)

Composition limit: the total duration of all clips in a single Studio composition is currently limited to 20 minutes.

How to open Studio and add clips

You can access Studio and add content from several places in Moments Lab.

  • From the left navigation: click Studio to open the Studio home page, your central hub for all compositions. Start a new composition, resume one from My compositions, or browse Latest custom moments.

  • From a Project: open any project, then click Open in Studio at the top of the page. You can also right-click any clip inside the project and select Open in Studio or Add to Studio from the context menu.

  • From the Discovery Agent: run a search in the Discovery Agent. Once results appear, add clips directly to your Studio composition from the Agent panel without leaving your edit.

  • From the search bar: type what you're looking for, then add any moment directly to your Studio composition from the results.

  • External video: upload a video file directly into Studio, even if it isn't indexed in Moments Lab. Use the Video insert track on the timeline to add any external file to your composition.

The Studio interface

When you open a composition, you'll see three main areas:

  • Preview panel (center): shows your video as you edit. Use the play button and timeline scrubber to navigate.

  • Properties panel (right): context-sensitive settings for the selected element, including text overlays, subtitles, logo, brand styles and reframe settings.

  • Timeline (bottom): all your layers, including clips, subtitles, text overlays, image inserts and video inserts.

Click Export in the top right to render your finished composition. Once it's rendered, you can download the file or get a shareable link.
