Studio automatically generates subtitles from your content's transcript, no extra transcription step required. Edit the text, adjust timing, and style them to match your brand.
How subtitles work
Studio pulls subtitles directly from the transcript created when your content was indexed in Moments Lab. No additional transcription step is needed. The moment you add a clip to your composition, its subtitles appear on the Subtitles track, already synced to the speech in your footage.
Subtitle language: if transcript translation is activated in your workspace's transcription configuration, the translated language is automatically available in Studio. Open the Subtitle appearance settings and use the Caption language dropdown to change the subtitle language.
Editing subtitle text and timing
Click Subtitles in the right sidebar, or click the Subtitles track in the timeline. The panel lists every subtitle line with its timecode. Click any line to edit the text directly.
You can also fine-tune subtitle timing directly on the timeline.
Stretch or shrink a subtitle: drag the left or right edge of a subtitle block to adjust how long it stays on screen.
Styling your subtitles
Scroll down in the Subtitles panel to access all styling controls:
Typography: font, size, weight, alignment, letter spacing, line height, capitalization, and text color. Use Manage fonts to upload custom fonts.
Spoken word: toggle Highlight current word to highlight the word being spoken in real time as the video plays. Great for engagement-style social content.
Text shadow: toggle Show text shadow and set offset X, offset Y, blur, opacity and shadow color.
Caption background box: toggle Show background box to add a colored block behind your subtitle text.
Position: use Top offset and Side inset to control where your subtitles sit on the frame.
Happy with your subtitle style? Save it as a Brand Style to reuse it in future compositions.
