In this article, we will see how to use the media batch index feature, available from both the search view. Let's begin!

Start by going in the search.

From there, click on the Select mode button on the top right corner.

Click on the top left corner of every media you want to select where the little box is.

As soon as you're done, you'll see a new box appear X media selected. Click on it and then Edit media infos...

A window will pop with all editable fields.

A search bar allows you to search for the specific field you want to update. On top of this, you'll see if there are common values to all medias, if it's the case, they'll be shown in the Shared value(s).

Click on a field to edit it.

The message Previous data will be overwritten after saving. appears for field that are :

  • Full text

  • Selection list

  • Date

  • Date and time

  • File

For fields allowing several different values such as multiple selection list and autocomplete, you will have a choice to either Add values on selected media, which means your edits will be added to what was already existing, or Replace values on selected media, meaning everything that was there before will be removed to make way to your edits.

Note: info on the event level are not subject to this removal.

Click on Save once you're satisfied with your edits.

Click on the X on the top right to return to your search and click on Quit Select Mode on the top right corner to return to the original search view.

That's it, you now know how to edit fields using the media batch index!
