The platform UI lets you upload media directly, without any extra tools, ideal for one-off files. Your content is indexed immediately, so it's searchable as soon as processing finishes. For bulk transfers, see Upload media from S3 and Cyberduck.
Before you start: most teams already have an established route for ingesting content, set up when their workflow was first configured, for example through the API. This is an additional way to bring media in yourself, on top of that.
Upload through the platform UI
An event is a user-defined structure you create in the UI to group content as it's ingested, for example by show, season, year or date range.
Click Events in the left navigation bar.
Select an existing event to upload into, or create a new one.
If you're creating a new event, complete the event details, then click Create:
Type, title and program: basic information to identify the event.
Media info: content type and production details, like program name, season and episode, plus an optional Electronic Programme Guide description.
Recording: the source device and the start and end time. (For live only)
Transcript: The source audio language.
AI indexing: MXT (Moments Lab's video understanding AI) indexing.
Routing and sharing: where content is sent (Routing) and which organization has access (User/Sharing).
4. Click Browse files, or drag and drop your files directly.
5. Any AI indexing tasks configured on the event will launch automatically once your media finishes uploading. If they weren’t configured on the event, or if you want to run an additional task, click the three dots (⋯) next to your media and select Launch task.
Once processing is done, MXT has transcribed your media, separated out each speaker, and analyzed several frames per shot instead of just one, so it captures what's actually happening on screen, not just a single still. Your content is now fully searchable and ready to use anywhere in the platform.
